It’s time for 2024 mini sessions!
Every year I like to intentionally plan a handful of mini sessions for those of my clients who want to keep things short and sweet, or who may just need a handful of photos. I’ve gotten really good at shooting quickly, and we can create the perfect mini gallery of your story that comes with some of the checklist photos, as well as some creative and documentary images. I’ve even added a new location for those of you planning your California family vacation, so definitely check those out as well!

WHAT A MINI SESSION IS NOT:

An insanely good deal available to anyone at anytime—don’t confuse a mini session with cheap photography. It’s about the size, not the price.
Mini sessions are not an ideal time to have a shot list.
If you have a pose you really want to do I’m totally open to doing that, but these sessions do go by quickly and work best when we can go with the flow. If you think that there are more details you are wanting captured, I would recommend either booking two time slots or booking a regular session so I can devote more time and attention to you.
Frequently Asked Questions about Mini Sessions:
How many photos do you get with a mini session?
Even though these sessions are quick, and I do have a minimum guarantee of 20-30 images, I send over ALL the good ones. I’ve gotten really good at getting lots of variety of shots in a short period of time, so I almost always give more than I guarantee.
What if I want to have you shoot film at our mini session?
LET’S DO IT! I have certain types of film that I recommend for various settings and types of sessions, from black and white film, to disposable cameras (my favorite place is to shoot these at the beach and theme parks), and polaroids. These are the perfect way to add something special to your session that feels beautiful and nostalgic.
Does it make sense to add on an album for a mini session?
A lot of times people will think that there won’t be enough photos to fill an entire album and there are actually plenty of photos to fill an album. And even when there are fewer photos, it’s really beautiful to have an image fill an entire page or two pages. Simplistic, minimal albums, with a lot of white space are actually my favorite. They just have a cool, fine-art feel to them.
How long is a mini session?
These sessions are short and sweet, which is why a lot of people love them. It’s easy on kids and parents, and those that don’t love to have their photos taken. That being said, being EARLY to your mini session is a MUST.
How much does a mini session cost?
The pricing for mini sessions will vary based on a lot of different things, from location, to time of year, or even time of the week.
