You know when you have family photos done with your young kids and it literally feels like a tornado? You are just hoping that there is ONE photo--you’d be happy with just one, because it felt so chaotic and your kids were little wild animals and you look in the mirror after and your hair is a wild mess. First of all, I know the feeling because I’ve been there. Secondly, it’s ok. I know it can feel chaotic. That you want your kids to behave but you don’t want to threaten them with their lives right in the middle of pictures because nobody wants booger noses and red eyes from tears in the pictures you’ve invested in of your beautiful (doesn’t feel like it at the time) family. Let me let you in on a little secret--I got you. Your kids do not have to be perfect. They don’t have to hold still. They don’t have to “look at the camera and smile.” Want to know another secret? The less we try to get them to conform to something that they aren’t, the better. I’ve got lots of tips and tricks for working with your kiddos--and hey, even your teens. I LOVE kids, and I love talking to them, getting down at eye level with them. I may slip them the occasional smartie when I REALLY need to, but for the most part, letting your kids just be is the best way to go. I help direct when needed but my main goal is to avoid having anything feel forced. It’s a challenge, but one I actually kind of love. Bring it on.
