I had the honor of documenting this dreamy maternity session of Leah in Saratoga Springs, Utah. The beginning of motherhood is magical, whimsical, and a time of deep reflection. There are so many maternity photo shoot ideas out there ranging from lots of props to keeping it very minimal. I tend to resonate with the minimal, natural, earthy approach. This maternity session implemented soft, pretty florals with a neutral color palette, minimal, earth-toned clothes in a setting with water and tall, soft, yellow grass. The baby bump with the soft colors and florals worked in such a complimentary way and came together so beautifully. I shot on a mixture of film and digital to bring in another element of creativity to the shoot. The film has a grit, and texture, with the most perfect light leaks that highlight the details in a way that really draws you in.
