CHAD + ASHLEY’S INTIMATE WEDDING OVERLOOKING ZION’S NATIONAL PARK

Man this outdoor wedding was gorgeous! From beginning to end, there were so many beautiful details, all deserving of being noticed, from the planned, to the unplanned, random way things and people seem to arrange themselves . I love the intimate vibe this wedding had. Utah has got so many gorgeous places to get married, and this overlook was the perfect place for Ashely and Chad to get married—an intimate, romantic setting, surrounded by their favorite people. Here’s a brief summary of some highlights from the day:

  • A casual, go with the flow vibe right from the beginning of the day (we all know things don’t always go exactly as planned on a wedding day, and the best route to take is to just embrace what comes)

  • Chad’s daughter trying on her cute little flower girl dress and showing Ashley and the bridesmaids—so sweet!

  • Ashely’s hair piece made by her mom from her own wedding dress

  • The guys multitasking and setting up for the ceremony and getting themselves ready

  • Time together of just Ashley and her mom before the day gained momentum

  • Driving through Zion’s National Park to get to the wedding site

  • Riding with the bride to the wedding site only to be stopped by a cute little family of goats who seem to have no sense that we are running behind and have a wedding to get to!

  • A gorgeous, adventurous setting, overlooking Zion’s Canyon

  • The look on Chad’s face when his little flower girl walked up the aisle

  • His little boys walking up the wrong “aisle” then figuring it out and correcting course

  • The cute smile, and tears in his eyes when Ashely walked up the aisle with her mom

  • The natural grace that Ashley carries herself with, so beautiful to observe

  • Ashley’s concern and care for each person that attended

  • Some mountain bikers buzzing through the ceremony site (Wire Mesa Trail) hollering congratulations on their way through

  • An after sunset/moon rise session of just the two of them in a grassy field, that, because of the low light, ended up looking so soft and painterly

  • A sparkler first dance instead of a sparkler exit and lots and lots of dancing and love

These two as a couple leaned a little to the non-traditional side in how they celebrated their wedding day. They were all about choosing the wedding traditions that meant the most to them, and ditching the ones that didn’t. They embraced what the day brought their way and really cherished their experience.

So keep scrolling if you want to see some documentary photography of a FULL wedding day. There are LOTS of photos. Bonus points if you can spot the black and white film photos throughout.
