Creative Photography Course for Beginners Kids and Teens | Beginner Photography Class
Heyyyyy!!!!! I am SO dang excited to be announcing that I have created a creative photography course for kids and teens. Really, any beginner that wants to learn how to take better pictures no matter what kind of camera they have would benefit from this class. It is the perfect activity to do at home right now with kids. And will keep your teenagers busy and entertained as well. I have been wanting to create a creative photography course for a long time. I was planning on making one for other photographers (still am) but the idea to create this course for kids and teenagers came to me one night and just sparked something inside of me that felt right and I had to pursue it. So many kids are at home right now and parents are needing something for their kids to do to keep them busy that isn’t just watching tv or playing on a phone.
This course that I’ve created is created in a way that encourages exploration of creative photography concepts instead of a “color in the lines” approach. We talk a lot about having freedom to create and even though I do cover photography basics such as composition, light, and perspective, it is done in a way that is very user friendly and easy to understand. So you do learn those concepts, just in a way that encourages exploration instead of being restrictive.
I’m going to cover what is included in the course, as well as share some photos that kids that are taking the course have taken. It’s really cool to see them create images that even I would take as a photographer of 13+ years. Kids and teenagers have got a natural inner voice of creativity and this course encourages them to strengthen that and to train their eye to see things in an interesting way. It teaches them to analyze their own photos and develop the ability to see what they like about certain photographic compositions and techniques. There is complete freedom to explore.
What’s included in the course:
10 video modules that vary in time but are about 10 minutes long
A printable workbook to keep track of photo challenges that they can do over and over again
A printable certificate of completion signed by me that they can sign once they’re finished
Camera recommendations in various different price points, from less than $100, up to about $600. You can choose what you feel would best suit your child or teen. They can totally use a cell phone too if that is what they already have at home
Portfolio recommendations. There is a Pinterest board link that shows different ways you can display your child’s art as well as links to products that are shown in the Pinterest photos.
5 bonus photo challenges
A bonus video of basic photo editing using free programs
YouTube Channel (LINK HERE: Tai Lee Photography)
Not included in the course, but will be part of followup education to help them retain their skills they learned and can continue to develop their photography skills online
I’m going to finish out this blog post with some pictures from my students who have taken the class from me. I LOVE seeing their perspective and seeing what they were able to create with just the right amount of guidance.
