No. 1 | Where are you located and are you willing to travel?

I am located in Northern Utah, and service Salt Lake City, Provo, Park City, and Heber. And I am always more than happy to travel throughout the country for you. Want to get married in the forest in Pacific Northwest, have family photos on the beach in California, or have a tag-along for your Disney vacation? LET’S DO IT!

Or if you’re needing a vacation, I know ALL the good locations in Utah, from mountains to Salt Flats and more, so get in touch!

No. 2 | We’re SO AWKWARD in front of the camera! Is there any hope for us?! ;)

I get this ALL.THE.TIME. People don’t think they’re photogenic, don’t know what to do with their hands, or how to pose and look natural in front of the camera. THAT’S WHAT I’M HERE FOR!

Photo sessions with me are very laid back and my whole goal is to help you feel comfortable and relaxed while being photographed. Whether it’s your wedding day, or a family shoot, I combine a mix of guided posing, and observation to create photos that feel real and authentic. They are guided, but feel very candid and natural.

No. 3 | How Much Do Your Wedding or elopement Packages Cost?

This varies depending on the amount of time you need coverage. Some people know exactly how much time they’ll need, and others aren’t sure. When you reach out we’ll talk through it in an email or a facetime call and help make sure you get the exact amount of coverage and collection that you need and want. Wedding and elopement pricing starts at $1500, plus sales tax.

Contact me for full pricing guide and details. I’ll respond quickly within 1-2 days.

No. 4 | Do You Offer Payment Plans?

Yes! An initial retainer of $750 is due to hold your date, and a custom payment plan can be set up for you based off of your needs. And, I do accept credit cards without adding a credit card fee, so feel free to get those points!

No. 5 | Can we text you if we have questions? We don’t want to be annoying!

Absolutely! Once you’ve booked your wedding or elopement, I send over all my info and welcome texting or emailing. Good communication with your wedding team is ESSENTIAL and makes the process so much less stressful.

No. 6 | Do You Ever Photograph On Film? I’ve Seen A Lot Of Film Photos Lately And Think They’re Kinda Cool.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes! I include a complimentary roll of black and white film with every single wedding, and have the option to add on film to your wedding photos. Another cool trend is to do flash film photography, so we’ll get some of those too. Film has the coolest feel to it and is a little “imperfect” with some soft focusing, a touch of grain, or a wash of light across the film, and has such a nostalgic feel to it.

No. 7 | Do You Ever Photograph Wedding Weekends?

This is such a fun part of weddings to photograph that can get overlooked! If you have fun activities with friends and family the day before like yoga on the beach, hiking in the mountains, or a bonfire, this is so cool to document and for you to remember looking back.

Want something chill and intimate the next day? Throw your wedding clothing back on and we can go out just the two of you, or even stay in for a snuggle session at your airbnb, or a dip in a nearby hot spring. This is a nice change of pace after the wedding celebrating.

No. 8 | How Many Photos Do We Get And How Long Does It Take To Get Them?

Trust me, you’ll get plenty. ;) I typically deliver 40-50 images per hour of coverage. Any more than that is super overwhelming. I give you the best of the best so you have plenty to look through, but not so many that you can’t figure out which ones you want to print.

You’ll receive an online gallery that you can print from, share easily with family and friends, with high resolution images that you can download.

FAMILY PHOTO SESSION FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. 1 | What If Our Kids Misbehave During The Session?

Everyone worries about this, and sometimes kids can tend to act a little different than their norm because, let’s be honest, it’s not normal to have some weird stranger following them around with a camera. A couple things to put your mind at ease—one, I’ve got four kids so I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Two, the last thing I want is a kid that isn’t able to just be themselves because they’re trying to act perfect for pictures. Our focus is on letting yourself just be present with your family, and enjoy being present with them, while I guide you through the experience and create beautiful photos for you. I also tend to pull out smarties as a bribe if I need… ;)

No. 2 | Do You Have Any Suggestions On What We Should Wear?

I’ve written an entire article about this called What Not To Wear To Your Family Photo Pictures | Advice From A Photographer, and it addresses the obvious, but then includes helpful, foolproof tips on choosing what to wear, as well as places I recommend shopping. I’ll link it below, but here are a couple tips. Neutrals, textures, layers, and avoid being match-y-match-y. If you do a session at home you can keep it super casual with cute loungewear, babies in diapers, barefoot, etc.

No. 3 | Do You Have Any Location Suggestions?

Location suggestions is my middle name, jk. I’ve written several blog posts of location guides. The easiest way to choose is to decide if you want to stay close to home, or if you want a super cool location even if you have to drive a bit. If you don’t see something in your area, send me an email and I can give you a list of suggested locations with photos.

No. 4 | I Love In Home Sessions, But Don’t Feel Like My House Is Cute Enough. Is It Still Possible To Try?

Do you have windows? Then we can do a family session in your home! We need some natural light, and, though your house doesn’t need to be completely spotless, it’s helpful if you have an area that’s near the windows that is a little picked up, but you do not have to have the perfect house to have your family session done there! Professional photography can really elevate your space and show it to you in a way you didn’t think was possible. Front porches and backyards are also a great option.

No. 5 | Will You Pose Us? We love lifestyle photos but don’t know how to pose ourselves.

There’s a little trick to lifestyle photography and getting natural, candid images. I’ll use prompts that help you interact with your partner and kiddos that get real, authentic reactions, and then also use guided “posing” that helps you look and feel natural and comfortable in your photos. Then there is the occasional observation of something one of your kids did, or the way your partner looked at you, how your baby holds onto your shirt that I’ll photograph as well. This is why your kids don’t need to act “perfect” and “look at the camera and say cheese” because that is often where we get those photos that have some heart, some soul, that feel like poetry.

How Do We Get Our Photos From You? Do We Have To Buy Extra Stuff After The Session?

Every session comes with an online gallery of digital, high-resolution files which means you can download all the photo files, order prints through your gallery, share your gallery with family and friends. You do not need to purchase anything additional after the session unless you decide you want something special like an heirloom album designed for you.
