Salt Lake City Family Photo Session in Mid-Century Modern Home

Salt Lake City Family Photo Session in Mid-Century Modern Home Renovation

Tai Lee Photography | Utah Family Photographer

A few months ago I was invited into this beautiful family’s home that they had recently remodeled near Salt Lake City, Utah to photograph their love and connection. I could tell that their daughter Isla was the center of their world and the purpose of everything that they worked hard for and that their home was an expression of their creativity, and extension of their inner selves. They did such a beautiful job mixing modern and mid-century to create such cozy spaces to spend their days at home together, and made an effort to bring in lots and lots of natural light. The walls and colors were neutrals mixed with wood and stone, with giant windows everywhere.

Jennifer + Chris’s Intimate Elopement in Snow Canyon State Park

Snow Canyon, near St. George Utah, is one of the most beautiful places and if you are looking for a beautiful outdoor location to get married, put this place on your “Utah Wedding Location Ideas” list. We visit at least once a year, especially in the winter because it’s not as cold as Norther Utah. One of the most magical experiences I’ve had was standing on top of the Petrified Sand Dunes in January, above the clouds, with views of red rocks, cliffs, and lava rock. Stunning and serene are the two words that come to mind—two words that are so fitting for an elopement or intimate wedding with your favorite people.

Wedding Planning Advice For Couples, From Couples | Utah Wedding Photographer

So I had an idea a while back that it would be nice to get wedding advice, planning tips, and suggestions from the people that had been there before. There are a TON of articles on wedding blogs and links to articles on Pinterest and some of them are really helpful, but a lot of them are also just trendy topics. They don’t look at tradition and evaluate it. So I took a few questions to my facebook and instagram audience to get their wisdom and advice on the whole wedding experience from what they regret, to what they were glad they did. These tips for making your wedding planning easier are little nuggets of gold and it’s worth reading every single one. Take a screen shot if you need!

Luxury Engagement Photo Session at Amangiri Resort in Canyon Point, Utah

Luxury Engagement Photo Session at Amangiri Resort in Canyon Point, Utah | Tai Lee Photography | Amangiri Utah Engagement Photographer. Imagine being so far away from everything that you only hear the still, quiet sound of nature. The sound of the breeze, the rustle of desert plants, the breath of the earth. The word Amangiri means ‘peaceful mountain’ and that is exactly how it felt to be there. Not only while exploring the steep cliffs, canyons, mesas, white slot canyons, and rock formations, but also while wandering through the Amangiri Resort, with its architecture and design that honors and complements the nature surrounding it. Instead of competing with nature, it became one with it and it truly does feel like you are in the wild west. Be sure to watch the video in the link to the Southern Utah Resort because it beautifully expresses how it feels to be there.

A Creative Collaboration with Earthy and Organic Wedding Stylist Havenwood

I loved collaborating in Sundace, Utah at the Timpanogas Trailhead with fellow creative Katie Bushnell from Havenwood. She did such a beautiful job at taking the little bit of inspiration I sent her and really bringing it to life with her fine art wedding styling. This is exactly what a wedding stylist does. It’s easy to pin all the pretty pictures to Pinterest but it’s an entirely different thing to know how to bring it all together and have it look pretty and balanced. It’s overwhelming to look at all the different wedding table decorations and centerpieces, and even if you do find the right ones, arranging them takes a trained, creative eye.
