LUXURY WEDDING PLANNING AT AMANGIRI RESORT IN THE UTAH DESERT
The Aman Resorts are one of the most incredible luxury resorts I have ever seen. I was fortunate to photograph a couple’s engagement session in Southern Utah at Amangiri this past year (linked below), and just recently discovered that there is another resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with the mountains as the setting called Amangani. It looks just as magical as Amangiri and also embraces its natural surroundings and integrates that into the resort seamlessly so you almost can’t tell where one stops and the other starts. For those looking to have a simple elopement, or a modern, minimalist wedding, or micro-wedding, I can’t imagine a more perfect setting to elope or get married. It would be an experience you would never forget.
I wanted to put together this blog post and update as needed so that all the useful information you needed to plan your elopement or wedding to Amangiri. It’s tricky when you’re planning a destination wedding to a place that you don’t live and there are some important factors to take into consideration, aside from how much is costs to get married at Amangiri, such as climate, seasons, surrounding areas, and where the nearest airport is. I’ll also be offering a few tips that can help you splurge on an elopement here, but can also leave a little money for some other adventures. Let’s get into the details to help you plan your Aman Resort Wedding!
Amangiri Engagement Session—Keep in mind, this couple requested privacy so there aren’t any images showing their faces. You can trust that they were beautiful, but out of respect for them, I’m only sharing approved images from my clients that maintain their privacy.
What Is Best Time Of Year To Get Married at Amangiri, Canyon Point, Utah?
So although the Amangiri Resort is located in Utah, it is riiiight near the Utah/Arizona border. Why is this important? Because in the summer, it get roasting, blazing hot. I’m talking, sweat rolling down your back, and glowing on your forehead. It doesn’t cool off until the evening and even the evenings can be too warm for a lot of people’s comfort. The ideal time to get married here would be in the late Spring, starting mid to late April, or early Fall, from Mid September to early November. Here is a weather tracking website that will give you all the weather details you need, from year round, to the 10 day forecast to get an idea of what will work best for you.
What Is The Closest Airport to Amangiri, Canyon Point, Utah?
The closest airport to Amangiri is in Page, Arizona and is only a 25 minute drive to the resort. You can also fly into St. George, Utah but it’s about a two hour drive from the resort. It’s a scenic drive though, so it could be part of the experience to stop at a few places and sight see as well as enjoy the view from the car. You can also fly into Las Vegas, Nevada, and they have a shuttle service. The resort does have a private jet service that will fly you in direct so there is that option as well.
How Many Guests Can I Have At My Amangiri Wedding?
The resort can accommodate groups of varying sizes, starting at groups of 30, all the way up to 110. You are able to book the entire resort, or one of the smaller venues for a more intimate wedding. The Ampitheater at Camp Sarika is worth a look and is for up to 30 guests. Every wedding photo I’ve seen here has blown me away with it’s serenity and beauty. I would also recommend the Chinle site, which in Navajo means ‘where the water flows’ with the experience being enhanced by Navajo music and storytelling.

What Wedding Day Amenities Does Amangiri Provide?
Amangiri provides heating and umbrellas for outdoor spaces, on-site catering, and are licensed to provide alcohol services. All food and beverages are provided by Amangiri.
Decor is not provided and would need to be arranged through a third-party wedding stylist or planner. A sound system is also not provided, and for additional decor, tables, seating, and glassware, couples will typically rent their own through an outside vendor.
Can We Use Our Own Vendors?
Amangiri will provide a list of preferred vendors, but the couple is able to choose their own vendors, photographer, planner, and stylists. Catering is only done through Amangiri. If you have a request to have an outside food vendor or food truck at your wedding, contact Amangiri to discuss it.
Things To Do Near Amangiri Resort
Places To Stay Near Amangiri
Amangiri only allows wedding guests that are staying at the resort, but if you’re looking to only stay for a night and want to explore some nearby areas, here are a few suggestions. Lake Powell Under Canvas is the ultimate glamping experience, and one worth trying while you’re in the area. Lake Powell Resort is another great option that allows you to stay at a resort next to Lake Powell or even plan a stay on a house boat on Lake Powell. Another option would be to stay in Big Water at an AirBnB so that you can explore some of the state parks that are in the Southern Utah area, do some hiking, and spend some time at Lake Powell.
Bonus | A Couple Things To Note
Amangiri treats their guests well and has their every need in mind. They provide on-site catering that locally sources their food and is inspired by the American Southwest. They also have vendor recommendations to bring the style and vision that you are wanting to see come to life on your wedding day. For full pricing details and proposals, contact the Amangiri Resort HERE.
Can you just visit Amangiri?
Amangiri is a very private and secluded, guests-only property. They prioritize the privacy of their guests, so a reservation must be made to stay there to enjoy the property.
What Should I Wear To Amangiri?
I stumbled across this video and thought it had some fun and simple outfit inspo ideas for an Amangiri stay for lounging, dinner, and horseback riding.
How Much Does It Cost To Get Married At Amangiri?
Whether you’re wanting to plan a luxury, destination wedding at Amangiri Resort, or you want to have an Amangiri Utah elopement, it will be an investment. While I recommend reaching out to the resort itself for the current pricing, it could be worth doing a quick search for an Amangiri wedding cost reddit thread to get a rough idea.
