When I saw that Ember Studio was having an open house I KNEW I had to go and see it in person. I’ve seen gorgeous weddings, and events photographed there, but hadn’t ever been inside the building. I also knew I wanted to take my film camera and take a few photos of such a cool, modern, industrial wedding venue in Downtown Salt Lake City. I love the variety of the rooms, and how the colors shift from light and white, to warm tones, to a darker brick room with a moody vibe. The bride’s room is so cool, and has beautiful, unique windows, and an industrial vintage mirror for getting ready. There is also an outdoor space to expand your celebration, which makes for a great place for toasts and dinner, or dancing after the ceremony.
I’m loving how wedding trends are shifting in 2023 are shifting, from incorporating more film photography (one of the top wedding trends of 2023), with blurry moments and movement, and flash photography, to having smaller, more intimate weddings. This venue is the perfect place if you are looking for a small wedding venue in Utah and has such cool styling that you don’t need to decorate it at all!

Everything is so curated and perfected, and it’s a breath of fresh air in such a curated world to have some photos taken on a film camera that are a little gritty from the film grain, that have those crushed shadows with a touch of haze in the darkest parts of the photos, a blur of movement, and just the softness that film provides. I would go out on a branch to say that the best wedding photographers right now either shoot full film, or are incorporating it into their packages
