Family Photos At Amangiri Resort In Canyon Point, Utah | Tai Lee Photography

A lot of people wonder if children are allowed at Amangiri, and the answer is YES, which means if you are traveling to Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah near the Utah/Arizona border, you can absolutely do family photos at at the Amangiri resort. When you are looking to get the best family photos during your stay, you want to look for a photographer who is good with kids. The thing about kids is that they can be unpredictable, and they are little free spirits. You want to make sure that your photographer has the patience and kindness and the ability to relate to the kids, and understand how to work with them well.

What I loved about photographing this family at Amangiri with their two girls is that they were very relaxed, and were able to go with the flow. They didn’t want photos that felt forced, and wanted the focus to be on documentary photography of their family enjoying being together on vacation in a super cool place. They let their girls be free spirits, which really allowed their true personalities to shine through. As a family, they valued creating experiences together and exploring different areas while they make memories together, and they really valued being able to take away photographs of these memories they are making.

Because of the beautiful, modern setting with Native American accents, and the touches of nature implemented in the design, we were able to take family photos that romanticized life, and highlighted deep love and connection within the walls of the resort, and surrounded by the stunning desert landscape of cliffs, mesas, slot canyons, and sky. We made sure to set aside time to visit their family suite, which had THE MOST beautiful lighting, using the floor to ceiling windows, and the tub area, working within the space of pretty soft, muted blue-green tiles and backlighting, the algae wall, the concrete breezeways where the girls spontaneously started meditating (be sure to scroll to see the photos), and the reflection pool. There are so many different areas to explore. We spent the evening wandering in the desert, beneath the blue hour sky, exploring a nearby slot canyon, with large rock faces as a backdrop, and paired people with nature, which is a beautiful dichotomy of existence and being.

Amangiri is a place to gather, to celebrate, new beginnings, and to get in touch with yourself, those you love, and the earth. It’s a great location to propose, celebrate an anniversary, a wedding, or even a mother and/or father to be. They connect you to our Natives, the Navajo Nation, the earth, and adventure, and have lots of family experiences to enjoy at Amangiri that connect you to culture, time together, and water adventures. Looking for a photographer who is good with kids to document you while you are enjoying a vacation with your favorite people in your favorite places, and actually be able to be IN the photos?

Whether it’s Amangiri Resort, on the beaches of California, or at Disneyland, you’ve landed in the right place.

As a mom of 4, and an aunt/great-aunt to lots of little ones, I’ve gotten very good at reading each child, and watching their cues to learn the best way to get to know them and photograph them. Each child is unique, and deserves to be documented as such, along with the family connections that you have with each other.
