Scroll through and get excited about having your wedding in a gorgeous location! But first, I’m going to address a couple frequently asked questions about getting married in Utah.

When Is the Best Month To Get Married In Utah?

One thing you will want to keep in mind is which is the best month to get married in Utah. It is totally going to depend on the area of the state. Northern Utah has cold, snowy winters, and Southern Utah and South Eastern Utah have SUPER hot summers. The best month to get married in Northern Utah, which is the Park City, Salt Lake, Heber, and Provo area, is typically late spring, summer, and early fall. We can tend to get snow in October and as late as April, so you’ll want to plan accordingly. The best time of year to get married in Southern Utah which is the area near Zions, Moab, St. George, Kanab, Cedar City, and near the Amangiri Resort, located close to Horseshoe bend, is Spring, Fall, and sometimes Winter, just depending on what type of venue you choose. The summers in that part of the state are ROASTING.

Can You Get Married In The Mountains In Utah?

YES! That’s the short answer. The long answer is that, depending on location, there may be a fee to shoot there. They are typically quite affordable though and most places make it pretty easy to get a photography permit. Typically if it’s a state park, or a national park, this will be a requirement. But if you find your own place on National Forest, you don’t typically need to pay any kind of fee. A quick google search looking up your location and website search or email can find this answer for you. There are some locations, that even though they aren’t a state park, like the Bonneville Salt Flats for instance, that may require a special use permit. This is always changing, and it’s better to be safe than sorry (having someone come interrupt your wedding to see if you have a permit, or asking you to leave).

What Is The Average Cost Of Utah Wedding Photography?

This is going to vary depending on the photographer, and the location of the wedding. Utah covers a lot of space and sometimes it can be quite the road trip to get to certain places, so travel fees may be added into certain wedding packages. Obviously I am going to say this, but I HIGHLY recommend looking for other areas you can cut your budget before you skimp on your photography because that is the only thing you are left with once your wedding day has passed. These photos become your memories, and are a worthy investment. Also, it’s always worth reaching out to your photographer and just chatting through your budget to see if there is a way for you to work together. There may be days of the year that they aren’t as busy, or an off-season that there might be some pricing flexibility.

AirBNB Wedding Venues

While this post doesn’t focus on these, getting an AirBNB in Utah for your wedding and your guests is a GREAT idea. While I don’t have specific links since the site and availability is always changing, I would recommend searching mountain airbnb, airbnbn near ‘location’ whether it’s Moab, Park City, Heber, etc. You can search A frame houses in the mountains, modern, secluded, hideaway, bungalow, etc, to get a certain style.
